A native of this region where she grew up and has always lived, Stéphanie invites you to discover her little paradise, Provence, through must-see and unusual places. From Marseille to Avignon via Aix-en-Provence and Arles, she will share with you the history, culture and traditions of this region bathed in sunshine and sung by cicadas.

Marseille

Stéphanie can make you appreciate the phocean city, the oldest city of France (created by greeks in 600 BC) with the quarter of Panier, city origin, and the Charité, most unusual baroque monument ; Notre Dame de la Garde (the good mother) where you will see all the city of Marseille on 360°. You can follow its history through the visit of the If Castle, forpost of defence built on an island in the 16thC by Francis the 1st (and famous thanks to Alexander Dumas' novel "The Count of Monte Cristo") ; or with the Longchamps palace from 18thC, built to celabrate the arrival of the water coming from the Durance river (north of Provence). If you follow the JF Kennedy sea shoredrive, she can show you the Borély park and its 17thC chateau, and she can also bring you until "the edge of the world", called like this because the quarter of Goudes is more a small fishermen port and it is the end of the city (No road after and then begin the calanques area, natural sites).

Les Alpilles

Stéphanie can bring you during a day in the Regional parc of the Alpilles with a visit of Saint-Rémy de Provence, capital of the Alpilles and charming town where was born Nostradamus (provençal market on Wednesday) ; then a visit of the Baux de Provence and the ruins of the medieval fortress (11th au 13thC). Le Luberon

Stéphanie can lead you for one day in the Regional park of Luberon with the discovery of Gordes, village perched on the hill which remembers the "creche" provencal nativity scene for Christmas ; of Roussillon, well known for its colored facades painted with ocre and its ocre's path (old ocre carry) ; of Bonnieux where we appreciate an admirable panoramic view on the farming plain of the Calavon valley, the Mounts of Vaucluse and the Mount Ventoux ; of Lourmarin, the village with 3 belfries and with the 1st renaissance chateau of Provence (16thC), which had welcomed Albert Camus and Henri Bosco, very famous french writers.

Salon de Provence

With Stéphanie, it is possible to discover the town of Patrol of France (very famous team of the best pilot of France that present shows in the sky), where there are still Marseille soaps factories which preserve the tradition from 3 generations. You can discover the Saint-Michel church (beginning of the 13thC) and the Saint-Laurent collegiate church (14th and 15thC) where there is Nostradamus' tomb, or else the "fontaine moussue" (fontain with limestone concretions and vegetation developed, giving the familiar mushroom aspect), mascot of the town from the 16th C. Then you can visit the Empéri Castle (13th au 16thC) that presents one of the most important collection of military objects in the world, the Nostradamus' house with waxwork figure that tells the grand astrologist's life and work.

Nimes et le pont du Gard

A visit of Nîmes which bring you from the amphitheatre to the Square House while passing by the Saint-Castor cathedral. Two thousand years of history, architecture, art and passion. It is easy to push a door to meet the roman style. And always, the contemporary is linked to the history like "La Maison Carré" The Squared House, contemporary museum and the building of the new Roman museum of the City (Musée de la Romanité : Museum of Romanity). Then, Stéphanie will present the Pont du Gard that is a part of the roman aqueduct from the 1stC (which brought water from Uzès to Nîmes). It is the most impressive work of the 50km channel (31 miles).

Uzes : It is possible to follow the tour with a visit of this town that was the aqueduct of Gard's spring. Ucetia, city of water, then bishop's city from the 5thC, first dukedom of France from 1632, protestant in 16thC, Uzès is a charming town which is one of the most preserved feodal site in a downtown.

Aix-en-Provence

Stéphanie can guide you in the city of fontains, first roman city of Provence created in 122BC, to discover the cathedral Saint-Savior, a patchwork of different periods with a baptistry from the 5thC and its cloister from the 12thC ; to walk in the streets flanked by palaces from the 17thC and the 18thC; or to spend time on the productors' market (Richelme square), on the flowers' one (Townhall square) or craft market (cours Mirabeau).

Following the foot of Cézanne : She can make you discover the city thanks to Paul Cézanne, the painter of the 19thC who changed the vision of painting in the world, by the site where he passed, from the birthhouse to the last painter's adress 23, rue Boulegon ; and for example the cours Mirabeau where he liked to stop in the café of "deux garçons" or the studio of the Lauves that was built by himself in 1901.
